Positive reflection is one of my best habits even when I am in the worst situation. Positive thinking always helps us to build our confidence to seek opportunities and helps us to explore more about ourselves. My name is Tanzeela Arif and I am a member of Amal fellowship and today I will talk about one of the best scenes of this fellowship that impacts me a lot and helps me to explore more about myself.

My most impactful moment during this journey was during my first group meeting with my team. Time was about 8 o’clock and we started our meeting with a small introduction. When it was my turn I introduced myself and one of my team members said this is not a right way to introduce yourself. His means was to try to introduce yourself with some sequence and he actually on the spot pointed out me in front of all group members and I was fully stuck. My mind froze and after that we started our discussion related to some task.

During discussion there was one point that I was not able to explain in English and I tried to explain it in Urdu. The same guy again pointed out me and he said try to speak English. I became dumb and after that scene I was not able to tell even a single thing.

That was the time I realized I had to put more effort into my communication skills. You can see me in the picture. I am not happy in the end. After that session I sat and thought about where I was lacking. I thought about all those circumstances positively and noted down my weak points. I made efforts on my introduction by collecting all stuff about myself by thinking about what I am and how to tell some about myself. I really want to thank that guy who pointed out my mistakes no matter what I was thinking at that time but I am glad I improved myself.

Sometimes I think What if that guy doesn’t point out to me my weak areas I must say that I will not be able to improve myself. After some weeks there was our project to work on elevator pitch about yourself. The same scene came to mind and I created my effective elevator pitch and posted a video on our batch group. The same guy commented on my video and said some valuable and precious words. He said, “Loving the body language! Great content, it’d be more awesome if you could reduce the use, “and and and” Otherwise such a good effort Tanzeela. I’m so proud of you.” These words gave me goosebumps to make more effort in life if someone points out something. That really means a lot for me.

I must say that try to think positive if someone is doing or saying things that hurt you for that particular moment. Try to find out the problems that create problems in your life and try to remove them first. You will be more happy in the end and it will also help you to stop overthinking. With that Good Luck to myself and all of you as well.
